Your Comfort Zone is a behavioural state within which you operate at a ‘safe’ level. It gives you a sense of security and boundaries in which to operate. Even if there are stresses in your comfort zone, e.g. job dissatisfaction, domestic issues etc… – you often accept them as the norm and wait for them to ‘blow over’. This can lead to a life of compromise and periods of unhappiness. Do you ever ask the question ‘is this it?’.
Stretching your comfort zone can be a little bit scary and often we know we want to make a change but end up jumping into the panic zone which is too much too handle so we shrink back into our Comfort Zone and tell ourselves ‘it’s not that bad’.
